‘Between Trees and Water by Painted Bird Production’

BTAW-poster-new-version-02-DRAFT-ONLY (1)

Using documentary material, witness statements, court depositions and newspaper articles relating to the case of Bridie Kirk, who died in Cork City in 1939 as a result of an illegal abortion, this play is about trying to find a way to tell a story that for 75 years has gone untold.

The project is the result of an ambitious collaboration between a cast of five performers, composer Tom Lane, designer Deirdre Dwyer, dramaturg Thomas Conway and director Fiona McGeown.
The show will run in offsite locations in both Cork, as part of the Everyman autumn season: http://www.everymancork.com/2014/02/between-trees-and-water/

and in Dublin as part of the 2014 Tiger Dublin Fringe:

‘Rhubarb Crumble’ by Ghost Train Willy

Rhubarb Crumble Poster FINAL (1)

‘There’s a fine line between failure and misery. Often, there’s no line at all. Just ask this second-rate children’s theatre company, whose members all fantasise about the lives they could have led had they not been held back by each other. Uncensored and irreverent – with a sprinkling of show-stopping tunes – these failed entertainers are brought to life just as they are gifted one last, desperate shot at success. This show is for fans of punchline-heavy comedy at breakneck speed, and anyone who has never followed their dream and wants to feel good about it.’

Hi, it’s your best friend John and I’d like you to join a cult. What’s this? Join a cult? The things with crazy people in them? What’s the cult? Who’s the leader? What do they believe? Am I not supposed to stay away from cults in general? I’m really not sure about this. Short answer, yes. They’re awful things. Demanding, isolating, costly and generally kind of dumb. Accept this one. This is a good cult. A cult you want to be in. Let me show you why.

The doomsday prophecies were right. Good thing Noah had stocked up on tinned goods. The wrong man to survive the apocalypse is the only man left in Ireland. Watch him stagger and fumble through a global catastrophe, while attempting to deal with conspiracy and paranoia at a personal level. As he struggles with his own isolation, delusion and neurosis he attempts to define the great pandemic surrounding him and any other phenomenon’s that he happens to think of. With no one left to help him, what chance does he have?

Ollie is a wooden puppet. But forget everything you know about puppets. Ollie is old. Ollie is tired. Ollie is grumpy. Ollie is irritable. Ollie is frustrated. Ollie does not give a shit. This is a story about stories that takes place in the void between memory and reality. This is puppetry like you have never seen it before. Ollie is brought to life by third generation puppeteer, Jason Lambert and movement specialist, Claire Walsh. The pair’s collaboration was forged in the Lambert Puppet Theatre and is taking shape for the first time at Tiger Dublin Fringe.

We are delighted that Deborah Wiseman has received such great reviews for her role in AC Productions Timon of Athens.
The show is finishing up this Saturday 19th July. For tickets and more information see here
See below for a snippet of some of these reviews

AC Productions have a well-merited reputation for intelligent, talented presentation of significant plays, and producing them with high, if economical, production values. Their current production of Timon of Athens at Project in Dublin can only enhance this reputation: it may well, indeed, be the star in their firmament… with accomplished, truly Shakespearean performances throughout from Deborah Wiseman.
