Kate Brosnan
Kate is an actor from Kilkenny. She is a graduate of Drama and Theatre Studies in Trinity College, specialising in performance. She has been vocally trained by Christine Scarry.
Kate is currently filming for the second season of Obituary. She also leads in short film, Constitution Hill, which premiered at ShortCuts film festival in the Light House cinema. Her other recent credits are documentary Lady Gregory: Ireland’s First Social Media Influencer, in which she played opposite actress Miriam Margolyes, and short film, Vixen. She is currently developing, and will star in, her own short film, Bean, with writer Síofra O’Meara and director Hiram Harrington.
Kate has many years of experience in stage performance. She most recently performed in two-hander, But We’re Right, in the Smock Alley Theatre. Her other recent theatre credits include playing Judas in Men Eating Dinner in the 2024 Scene & Heard Festival, to great acclaim, as well as leading in Hand of God in the 2023 Dublin Fringe Festival. She has performed with Gift Horse Theatre Company on both their sold-out regional tours of Twelfth Night, and Tess. She travelled to Bulgaria at the end of 2022 to play Tarrou in a production of The Plague, selected for the ‘Danail Chirpansky’ International Theatre Festival.
Kate also enjoys working in design, working in both costume and production design, as well as stage makeup. She most recently worked in Paris in the Cité Internationale des Arts, designing makeup for dance show, Nuées. She costume designed Gift Horse Theatre’s short film, The Offer.
Kate is an avid swimmer and a confident horse rider.
