Kate Brosnan

Kate graduated from Drama and Theatre Studies in Trinity College with a first-class honours degree, specialising in performance. Since graduating, she has begun working in screen acting. She stars in short film, Constitution Hill, which recently premiered at ShortCutsfilm festival in the Light House cinema. She also plays a lead role in National Film School short, Vixen. Kate got the opportunity to play Bridget in a reading of Katheen Ní Houlihan in RTÉ documentary, Lady Gregory: Ireland’s First Social Media Influencer, in which she worked with actress Miriam Margolyes. She is currently developing, and will star in, her own short film, which she co-created with fellow actor and writer, Síofra O’Meara.

Kate has been involved in theatre performance from a young age. She most recently played Judas in Men Eating Dinner in the 2024 Scene and Heard Festival, as well as playing Grace in Hand of Godin the 2023 Dublin Fringe Festival. She has also worked with Gift Horse Theatre Company on both their regional tours of Twelfth Night, in which she played Feste, and Tess. She travelled to Bulgaria at the end of 2022 to perform in a production of The Plague, selected for the ‘Danail Chirpansky’ International Student Theatre Festival.

Kate is also a designer, working in costume, stage makeup, and puppetry. She most recently worked in Paris in the Cité Internationale des Arts, designing makeup for dance show, Nuées.She costume designed Gift Horse Theatre’s short film, The Offer, as well as styling a 2023 shoot for Stray Magazine, in which she drew inspiration from the art of clowning. She also has a love for puppeteering and is currently refining her skills by undertaking a puppet making course with artist and puppeteer Corina Duyn.

Kate has been vocally trained by Christine Scarry and is an avid swimmer. She has a basic level of horse-riding.
